Star Wars meeting tomorrow

The monthly meeting is tomorrow evening. Looking very forward to it, I'm sure I'll pick up lots of figures there.

The only thing I've bought in the last week were 2 of the "Tin can" 4 packs of figures. I had been holding off buying these stupid things because they are mostly repacks of figures I already have, but each set has ONE figure I don't have.

Last weekend, they were on sale for 15 bucks each, so I bought 2 of them. I was feeling really cool because I paid only 15 bucks for 4 figures, until Heather pointed out that I only wanted ONE in each pack and I had just paid 15 bucks each for them.

I hate when she's right.

Yet another Kevin Smith figure

Kevin Smith knows that collectors of View Askew merch will pay over and over again for the same sculpt, repainted with new shirts. This one is no exception. It's the Kevin Smith figure I probably own 5 or 6 different version of now, this time with the "Pillow Pants 4 Life" shirt.

I must be bananas.

The Hutts are gangsters!

In the last two weeks, I've had over 400 bucks charged on my credit card by Sideshow. I know what it's for and I've been sitting around waiting for these two awesome items with great anticipation.

They finally arrived this week (a couple of days apart) and I haven't unpacked them yet because I have no room for them in my collection room right now. It's going to require a little shuffling of stormtroopers to fit this giant piece into one of my cabinets.

I know it's probably not exciting, but here's a picture of the boxes of the mighty Jabba and his throne.

P.S. Yes, those are Christmas Bells still on the door.
P.P.S. Yes, I know that's lame.

Trip to the post office for a Real Action Hero

Friday night, there was a tag on my door stating that the post office had missed me at home yet again. Yesterday, I got up and went down to the post office to grab what I was pretty sure was my RAH Stormtrooper figure I won on Ebay.

Although it was Saturday, there was a line out the door. The entrance was being guarded by a guy with a table full of pamphlets and a big "Impeach Bush!" sign. He had drawings of our president as a monkey and Alfred E. Neuman. I chatted with other folks in line about how scary the guy was.

The line took about 30 minutes and when I was finally done, I walked out only to be hit up for a signature from the guy with the table. I politely declined and told him to "keep fighting the good fight".

Here's the result of that little trip.

New Biker Scout Helmet!

The helmet for my Biker Scout costume has some issues. For one, it's too small for my head and for another, it's a Rubies....which I'm not happy with. At Star Wars Celebration 3, I got to see John's helmet and I was in awe of it.

Last month, I ordered one custom built from the same maker. He lives overseas, so it took nearly a month to get here, but here it is in all it's glory.

I still have to paint it, put on the mouthpiece, put in a liner and visor, some screen...and finally decals. I hope to have that all done before C4.

Here it is in it's unfinished glory:

Picked up another carload

This week I picked up a bunch of figures from my local pals Jim and Chris. Without these guys, I think my armies would be quite a bit less impressive. 1st up, Chris had the new Wal Mart wave for me. Sorry about the crappy picture, but I didn't use a flash.

I also went by Target this weekend and got a bunch of clones for myself while shopping with Heather. It's so rare that I find new clones, that I was thrilled when I found 5 or 6 all in one shot. These were augmented by a couple more figures that Chris had for me. He also picked up an Ilum battlepack and a couple of the wave nine guys. They are all pictured below:

I met up with Jim in a 7/11 parking lot on a Friday night. It was right in the middle of our work locations and we thought it would be a good spot. With our trunks open and cash in hand, people could have mistaken us for drug dealers if there weren't some dudes actually smoking crack not 10 feet away from us near the dumpster. I gave Jim his Yoda lightsaber that I've been holding for him since Christmas Eve. He had a box of bust ups he's probably been holding for twice that long.

Anyway....here are the bust ups Jim had for me, the entire Clone Wars wave (minus the variants) and a Leia with Gun out that I've been looking for since the line began. Cool beans!

When I got home...there was a door tag on my door. I had missed a delivery!

The clone army is growing

One of the same friendly Rebelscum members who sold me all those Mace Clones kept me in mind when he was about to do another clone sale. I've decided to grow my armies a bit more.

These just arrived today: Check it!
